Title: CC women's holsters
Post by: BuddhaFett on January 06, 2017, 10:58:37 PM
My cousin just turned 21 and so I gave her one of my G19s since she likes it so much.  I was hoping to get some female opinion on holsters or concealment locations for her.  She's 5'10 130lbs if that helps.  I've tried to point her in the direction of AIWB.  I'm thinking of getting her either a gcode or a raven concealment for her and see if she likes it.

I've heard good things about the ukoala bag recently (Daniel Shaw's Gunfightercast), and honestly, I'd love to wear one if I thought I could get away with it as a guy.  It's like a tactical drop-leg purse!

It solves one of the common problems I have with purse carry - Purses are too easily snatched or left behind.

Other than that, I'll defer to folks who actually have experience carrying as a woman.

Well, this topic makes me think of this: Flashbang holster (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17dvLdxyZ4s)
Of course, I wouldn't suggest giving that to your cousin (or even suggesting it to her...)

If there were a male version of that I'd consider getting it. It's not as dopey as a phanny pack, not as cumbersome as a bag, and easier to get to than a backpack. It also doesn't look like a holster unless you know it is one, which is interesting.

So I stumbled on a women's gun club web site, and they have a number of holsters designed for women, thought I'd share a few links since this thread is here.
General holsters page (http://thewellarmedwoman.com/holsters)

Corset thingamajig (http://thewellarmedwoman.com/twaw-lace-belly-band?utm_source=homepage-belly-band&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=Homepage-Belly)

Gun purse (http://thewellarmedwoman.com/ccw-purses/classic-hobo-purse?utm_source=homepage-hobo-purse&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=Homepage-hobo-purse)

Standard holster in fashionable colors (http://thewellarmedwoman.com/in-the-waistband-by-twaw?utm_source=homepage-waist&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=Homepage-Waist). This one is aimed at women but there's nothing strictly feminine about it, looks like a decent holster that comes in nice patterns.

I have carried a P229, which is similar in size to the G19, AIWB in a Custom Carry Concepts Shaggy.  I am bigger than your cousin but I found AIWB to be the best position for me to conceal.  The Shaggy is the best AIWB holster I have found after trying several.

I Googled "concealed carry pants" and this page popped up:

https://www.undertechundercover.com/ (https://www.undertechundercover.com/)

Maybe I'm going blind, but there are no pants there. Lots of other stuff though, for men and women.

This is a journalist's look at a concealed carry fashion show. It shows the thought a few designers are using when designing holsters for women.

The owners of http://packinfurdefense.com/ spend a lot of time researching women's concealed carry choices.
